Zoo Teen Naturalists 2012 (ages 13-17) General Information

Are you interested in animals and the environment? Have you ever wanted to work in a zoo? Are you looking for something wild to do this summer? Then become a Zoo Teen Naturalist!
Junior Zoo Teen Naturalist – For teens 13-14 years old Program Fee: $270 member/$300 non-members Session 1: Session 2:
Junior Zoo Teen Naturalists will investigate the animal world by exploring topics like exhibit design, animal care, animal handling and more. Each week will be full of hands-on activities and live animal encounters that will teach you more about the Zoo.
Join us for three weeks during the summer every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Program is limited to 15 participants per session.
Zoo Teen Naturalist – For teens 15-17 years old Program Fee: $295 members/$325 non-members Session 1: Session 2:
Zoo Teen Naturalists will have the opportunity to get more hands-on here at the Buffalo Zoo. This internship-like program is for the older teen who is serious about expanding their animal knowledge and considering a career with animals. Be prepared for real-life animal experiences and more opportunities for up-close animal encounters and animal handling!
Join us for three weeks during the summer every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Program is limited to 6 participants per session.
Entrance Location: Entrance Location: Participants will enter through the Service Gate #1 at Colvin and Meadow Drive at 10:00 a.m. and should be picked up at the same entrance at 3:00 p.m.
NO LUNCHES ARE PROVIDED due to individual food preferences, allergies, and dietary restrictions. Participants may either bring a bag lunch or purchase lunch at our concessions stand, the Beastro.
Appropriate clothing must be worn. Program will operate rain or shine so participants should dress for the weather. Sturdy shoes are recommended. Flip flops and sandals are not allowed.
Tuberculosis testing is required. As a standard procedure, all zoo staff members, volunteers and other individuals who come in close contact with the animals are required to undergo annual testing for TB. Written proof of negative TB test results is required prior to the start of the program.

Mail your registration- Payment MUST accompany your registration and may be made in cash, by check, Mastercard, Visa, or Discover. Please make checks payable to the Buffalo Zoo. Mail the completed form and registration fee to:

Registration and payment must be received at least one week prior to the start of the session in which your child is registered. Once registration and payment has been received, a confirmation letter will be sent to the participant. Cancellation requests must be made in writing at least one week prior to the start of the session to receive a refund. All refunds will be assessed one administrative charge of $25. Fees will not be refunded for any reason after the first date of the session your child is participating in.
